MY SP-40 OR SP-35 IS NOT SPRAYING, WHAT SHOULD I DO?Updated a year ago
You may have a clogged Airbrush gun, damaged needle or nozzle (or both), which would cause makeup to spray out unevenly or not spray at all.
First, remove the needle from the airbrush gun and run the tip of the needle across a tissue. If it snags at all along the tissue, then that means the needle is damaged and must be replaced.
Next, take off the needle cap and nozzle cap from the front of the airbrush gun. Now, you can see the tiny cone part called the nozzle. If this cone shaped part is jagged at the top or bent it is damaged and will need to be replaced. Any damages to these two pieces will cause makeup to spray unevenly or prevent makeup from being dispensed at all.
When cleaning your airbrush, are you taking all the pieces apart and scrubbing them individually?
Any build-up of makeup will cause the gun to clog and thus spray incorrectly. When cleaning your airbrush it is important to take off the nozzle and scrub the passageway that leads from the front of the airbrush to the cup. This can be done with the smallest brush in the airbrush cleaning kit.
We would suggest taking the gun apart completely and soaking each piece in 99% alcohol for about an hour.
You can scrub the pieces periodically while they are soaking.
You will also want to check the needle to make sure it is not bent and check the nozzle to make sure there are no cracks.
